Pastor Avery J. Preston, D. Div.

Pastor Avery Julian Preston is a native of Henry County, Va. He was born on June 9, 1963, to Ernest E. and Claudia Mae Preston. He graduated from Bassett High School in 1981, where he played Basketball and was a member of the Cross Country team, and the 1980 State Championship Track Team.

 

Pastor Preston is a graduate of the Pentecostal School of Theology where he received his Bachelor's degree in 1998. Pastor Preston received his Doctor of Divinity degree in 2008 from the Living Epistle Bible College, Greensboro, N.C.

 

Pastor Preston has worked faithfully in the church as a Deacon and Associate Minister of the Gethsemane GIPHC Church, and as interim Pastor of Midway Holiness Church. Pastor Preston also has a love for singing. He sang in the church choirs from his youth up. Later he joined the Spiritual Sounds of Joy. A local gospel Quartet, as a lead singer. In the year of 2001 they released their first recording titled “Well Done” In June of 2003 God gave him the vision to start a ministry, and on the fourth Sunday of that month Greater Love Ministries held it’s first service with five members. Since that time the ministry has experienced a tremendous amount of growth. That growth caused him to take a leap of faith and become the full time Pastor in April 2006
